arthur was the only son and child born to king uther and his wife, igraine, the former wife of the duke of cornwall, on a snowy evening in londinium, the capital city of the kingdom of england. the history of house pendragon can be traced back over five hundred years through the royal archives. after the imperium rōmānum left england after five centuries of occupation, the people of the island fought amongst themselves. warlords and other noble houses took over different regions of the island, forcing the realm into an endless cycle of bloodshed and war. five hundred years later, before prince arthur’s birth, there were rumors of uprisings from other noble houses spreading all over the kingdom. so, to protect his only child from his enemies and ensure england would have a future king, uther decided to leave the newborn with sir ector, a loyal knight and nobleman, after seeking counsel from his dedicated advisor merlin.in his childhood, arthur was taught by his adoptive father to appreciate the effort of england’s laboring class and the importance of his duties as a nobleman. despite being the second child of ector and his wife and the younger brother of kay, the boy was given the same education as his adoptive brother. he was given etiquette lessons to turn him into a proper patrician and was lectured about maintaining the company he kept. when he turned ten, arthur began to be privately tutored by merlin, a wizard who claimed to be close friends with sir ector. the wizard took it upon himself to teach the boy everything he needed to know about england's history and essential subjects ranging from poetry and medicine to geography and fencing. during a two-month trip with his father and brother, arthur met princess guinevere, the princess from a neighboring allied kingdom after saving her life alongside an elf named balin. as soon as the group met, they all became close friends who remained in contact with one another during their daily trips down to the banks of the river. however, once the squire needed to return home, the trio remained in contact by using magical parchment that balin had purchased from a wizard off the black market.two years later, king uther died suddenly after being poisoned. a week after the king’s death, arthur alongside his adoptive family came to the capital of the kingdom, where the teenager drew the sword from a sword and was declared the high king of england. afterward, arthur and his family were whisked away by merlin to meet with the queen. once he arrived at the castle, the soon-to-be king was made aware of his parentage. he was the heir to england and uther’s son. angry with his family for not saying anything, arthur disappeared and stayed with balin’s family for a few weeks to distance himself from his family and the royal court. it wasn't long until the prince returned home and had to worry about his upcoming coronation. before the new year, he was crowned the new king of england. after becoming king, his first order of business was to discover the assassin behind his father’s death. the guards were still searching for the killer, but the monarch sought to double the effort. against his council’s wishes, arthur left the capital city with balin and traveled to the kingdom of cameliard to meet with guinevere about a lead the two friends had. after weeks of wandering the realm, the assassin was finally found at a tavern and slain by the new king.the friends soon went their separate ways only for the newly minted king to start his hunt for new knights to join his ranks. one of arthur’s first volunteers was his father and brother, as well as his friend balin. for three years, the king worked to create peace amongst the noble houses of england, wishing to unite them all under one banner. in the fall of his third year as ruler, arthur and his knights returned to cameliard to honor the friendship he had with guinevere, but also the friendship her father had with king uther. alongside his knights, arthur fought alongside cameliard’s knights and expelled king rience from the kingdom. during this time, the king remained in the neighboring kingdom for a few weeks, entering a relationship with guinevere. arthur, who was in love with the woman since they met all those years ago, the man was happy, but his friend was oblivious to his feelings. the two were soon engaged to be married by the spring of next year. through exchanging letters, the two were able to plan a few ideas for their wedding, but the rest was mostly taken care of by the king’s advisors. following their nuptials later that spring, guinevere was crowned queen of logres, and arthur was given the round table as a wedding present by his father-in-law.following his wedding to guinevere, sir lancelot du luc arrived at camelot wishing to be a knight of the round table. to have him prove himself worthy of the seat, arthur sent them on a quest to slay a dragon terrorizing the countryside of england. after the knight returned to camelot in a few weeks, the king welcomed him with open arms, offering a seat at the table. threats to logres’ way of life appeared, wishing to usurp the new king. the biggest threat of all came from the man’s eldest half-sisters morgause and Morgana, who wanted to destroy everything uther created, blaming him for her family’s ruin and her father’s death all those years ago.

close to a year after marrying guinevere, morgause and morgana, allied with an enemy of arthur’s, led an army into the corridors of camelot. after a small skirmish with the two sisters, the king was banished from his kingdom and sent into exile. lancelot and the other knights of the round table tried to follow the royals into exile but they were arrested or sent into exile. while in exile, arthur moved throughout the kingdom with his wife, gaining allies to help them retake the throne of england. with most of the knights of the round table in prison or exile themselves, the king was alone with no backup plan ever since merlin disappeared. during the royals’ time in exile, they moved as far from camelot as possible. together, the couple traveled across the realm gathering allies from various noble houses before moving on to other kingdoms. arthur was able to ally himself with kings who were once his enemies, promising to protect them from morgause in the future. before the couple was able to reach camelot, the lady of the lake called upon the exiled king to meet her at her lake.once there, the man was given the legendary sword of excalibur and ended up meeting lancelot’s cousins, prince bors the younger, and lionel. like their cousin before them, the two princes pledged themselves to the king. with newfound allies on his side and a magical sword at his hip, arthur was now slated to retake the throne and restore peace to england once more. for a week, the group camped miles away from camelot, arranging their plan of attack. after a lengthy battle, the king was victorious, banishing the sisters, and reclaiming his ancestral court of camelot. once arthur ushered in a golden age of peace, the population of fairies and elves in the kingdom increased. during this period of peace, sir lancelot shocked both royals when he declared his feelings for them during a feast. afterward, the king left the pair to be alone to deal with his conflicted feelings until the queen and knight came to him separately to talk about what happened. it took some time, but the couple finally welcomed their champion into their relationship.In 505, during an era of uneasy peace, Arthur and Guinevere welcomed two children into the world. A girl named Naira, and a boy named Llachu. Unlike the surrounding kingdoms, who passed the throne to the eldest male, Arthur decided that he would give his title to Naira once she came of age. about half a decade later, Arthur was captured by Roman soldiers near the city of Bath after his small group of guards were slaughtered. The soldiers, wanting to make an example of the King of the Britons, decided to bring him to Rome. Once inside the city, Arthur would have been killed if he was freed by one of the guards, who smuggled him onto a ship and back to Britain. Once the man returned to his kingdom, he was reunited with his wife, who was ready to storm the capital of the Roman Empire to track down her husband. Once arthur was all but healed, he returned to running a kingdom after leaving it in his wife’s capable hands. after three months, news reached him about emperor lucius tiberius who demanded tribute be sent back to rome, but arthur would not since him the tribute. a few months later, war terms were drafted and arthur set out to defeat emperor lucius tiberius once and for all. in early winter, the knights of the round table met the emperor on the battlefield once again near the ancient roman city of bath. it was there that the king fought the older man in a one-to-one duel where the king defeated tiberius in combat. after the battle ended, Arthur sent the emperor's head back to Rome, stating that this would be the only tribute that he was going to give. the battle between England and the roman empire ended and peace was finally secured after decades of seeking it.however, after a period of peace and prosperity, camelot was starting to crumble, and with it arthur’s dream of peace. he knew that one day it would come to this, but not at the hands of his nephew, mordred. after years of raising the young man as his ward, the prince and knight of the round table turned against him. taking advantage of the brewing civil war in england, the knight usurped arthur’s throne becoming king in 527. when the older male met his nephew on the field of battle, arthur killed mordred but not before being injured himself. afterward, the king was brought to avalon alongside his wife, who joined the battle with the knight, where it was claimed that arthur and his wife would rise again.it took seventeen centuries, but the king of england did rise again in the 21st century. after waking up in avalon, arthur was greeted by the sight of his beloved queen lying next to him in an enchanted sleep. Once the king woke Guinevere, the lady of the lake who promised to help the couple grow accustomed to the new century but left him to fend for himself in the woods outside of his old castle with a map and a sword at his side. after being tracked down by an old friend of his, the king was whisked away to the english countryside, where he stayed in an old cottage while he grew accustomed to this new era. soon enough, old allies and friends of arthur's started to appear one by one, seeking out their old king with the hopes of helping him forge a better world. to do that, the man became a professor of ancient history at a local university while working as a vigilante at night, all the while trying to maintain a low profile so the governments of the world do not discover who he was.

Arthur Pendragon is the kegendary King of Logres and Britain. As the founder of the Knights of the Round Table, he is a fair and just ruler who wishes to create a better world.

When the Evil Queen cast her curse on the Enchanted Forest after the birth of Snow White's daughter, the realm of Logres remained frozen in time, protected by Merlin's magic. After the third curse, Arthur and Guinevere and a handful of the Knights of the Round Table were unexpectedly transported to Storybrooke.
